A padel racket weighs between 340 and 380 grams, is at most 38 mm thick, and has a perforated face. Shape affects feel more than anything else — rounder rackets favour control, diamond rackets favour power, teardrops sit in between.
Things to check
- •Shape: round / teardrop / diamond. Start round if you're unsure, move to diamond as your swing gets longer.
- •Balance: high-balance rackets give you more power, low-balance more control. Somewhere in the middle suits most players.
- •Weight: lighter (355g-) helps wrist health and manoeuvrability; heavier (370g+) gives more mass behind the ball.
